Naqali District U14 to work on indiscipline
Naqali District School Under-14 girls defeated Vunidawa Sanatan Primary School 2-0 in their opening match of the Rewa inter-primary football competition at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, but team management says discipline and fitness remain key areas for improvement.

Naqali District School Under-14 girls will need to work on their discipline despite their 2-0 win over Vunidawa Sanatan Primary School.
The sides met in their opening match of the Rewa inter-primary football competition at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
Team manager Joseva Ranuku thanked the school and students for their support.

“Fitness will be also crucial in our next few games,” Ranuku said.
“We need to work on our discipline and maintain possession.”
Ranuku said participation of female i-Taukei students in football is a testament to their passion for the sport and the development of women’s football at grassroots level.
“The girls did their job, and I also thank their coach Mr Tikiko for guiding them,” he said.
A total of 46 schools participated in the three-day Rewa Inter-primary football tournament.
“I want to thank the supporters and parents for turning up at the event,” Ranuku said.
“Our target is for both the girls and boys team toparticipate and enjoy their game despite the results.”
Ranuku said the tournament was a good platform to assess the players’ talent and skillset.
“The ground in our school is not in good condition. These players train in muddy conditions and we need to improve that as well,” he said.
“The girls have good speed and displayed great teamwork on the teamwork on the field."
Ranuku was confident that his team would top their pool and qualify for the quarter final.
