Isa Warriors set for Fijian Cup rugby league 9s

Brisbane-based Isa Warriors is all set to make their debut in the Fijian Cup rugby league 9s championship at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka today.
This year marked its fifth edition with a two-day festival of competition, culture, and community spirit - bringing together elite rugby league teams from the Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
Joel Turaga and Lance Cope founded the club, and the side is looking forward to turning heads.
“It’s the team’s first overseas competition. We aim to be a family, more than just a team or a club,” Turaga said.
Other teams include SB Panthers, FNRL (Fiji National Rugby League) Academy, Nadera Panthers, Navy Albatross, Brisbane Jackals, USP Raiders, and others.
Isa Warriors’ side plays Navy Albatross at 7.40am and Vusu Raiders at 11:40am.
The 2025 Fijian Cup 9s will host 32 top-tier Pacific rugby league teams, reaffirming its status as one of the region’s premier international tournaments.

The Vulau women’s open sees 16 teams including Te Aroha, Lionesses, Lami Steelers, Yasawa Saints, Papakura Sisters and Vanuatu Development.
The tournament continues to be delivered in partnership with the FNRL, Fiji Airways andTourism Fiji.
A total of $15,000 Fijian Cup package credit and FJD $7000 cash prize will be won.
Runner-up, MVP, referee MVP (most valuable player), team kit, and tournament legend awards are also up for grabs.
