The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) board of directors will need to relook at the Fiji Bati performance.
This was the comment of the Minister for Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru regarding the Bati’s humiliating loss to the Papua New Guinea Kumuls in the Pacific Bowl championship clash.
The sixth ranked Kumuls have won the Pacific Bowl for the third consecutive year, they thrashed Fiji in the final, 50-18, on November 1 before their home crowd in Port Moresby

With the Fiji Bati head coach being paid by the Fiji National Sports Commission under the Coaches’ grant, Saukuru said they will leave it to the sporting body to sort it out.
“We don’t want to interfere into their business but it’s about time they reflect on their performance, look at how they’re performing so far,” Saukuru said yesterday.
“The Bulikula have achieved wonders and now qualified to the World Cup.
“It’s sad that the men’s rugby league has not been doing well. As far as Government is concerned, we’d rather leave it with them.
“Let them sort things out, we believe that they can turn it around. If the coach is the problem or who is the problem, they need to fix it.”
The Bati have only beaten Cook Islands who are ranked ranked 10th, Bati is ranked 7th.
“We won’t be there to penalise them or take away what they have because it’s what Government is giving to every sporting organisation. We support every supporting organisation.
“My message to them is to relook at their performance so far and how they can better their performance.”
