The Fiji Bitter Savusavu 7s tournament returns to Ratu Ganilau Park from February 5-7 bringing focus to grassroots participation, strengthened competition structures and enhanced community engagement across the three-day event.

This year's edition places particular emphasis on encouraging more teams from Savusavu and Vanua Levu, supported by an increase in prize money for the Bowl and Shield divisions.

Tournament organisers say the enhancements reflect the event's longstanding commitment to strengthening rugby development on Vanua Levu.

"The Fiji Bitter Savusavu 7s has always been shaped by the passion of our community and our local players.

"This year, we are proud to welcome 32 men's teams, 8 women's teams, and 16 U21 teams, reflecting our commitment to expanding pathways for aspiring athletes across all divisions.

"Fiji Bitter's ongoing partnership remains key to delivering a quality event in Vanua Levu for players,

officials, and supporters alike," said tournament coordinator and Gaunavou Rugby Club president, Pita Ralaca.

The 2026 tournament will retain its proven structure, with pool play determining progression into the Saucer, Plate, Bowl and Shield competitions.

Matches will be administered under the tournament bylaws, aligned with Fiji Rugby Union and international rugby standards.

Organisers say this approach ensures a consistent and competitive environment across all three days. Fans can also expect a stronger stadium experience, with tournament trivia, prize giveaways and daily raffle draws introduced to enhance crowd engagement.

"There is a real heartbeat to Savusavu during this tournament. You see it in the crowds, in the players, and in the way the whole town gets behind the event.

"With thousands attending each year, it is clear the Savusavu 7s means a great deal to people here. Fiji Bitter is honoured to support something that brings so much pride and positivity to the community," Etrina Simpson, Head of MarketingAlcohol at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, said.
