Botia leads La Rochelle to big win

Perpignan saw three Fijians in their 26-20 win over Clermont. Alivereti Duguivalu started at centre and was paired with Eneriko Buliruarua at second five eight while veteran Peceli Yato started at locks.

La Rochelle’s Levani Botia scored a try to help his team win, 49-17, against Sireli Maqala’s Bayonne side in their Top 14 round 12 clash. 

The seasoned second rower scored just before halftime to lead 30-3 at the breather; Botia and Simeli Daunivucu both started off the bench. Daunivucu converted their last try to seal their win. 

Maqala scored Bayonne’s third try, however it was not enough to beat the hosts. 

Meanwhile, Lyon winger Jiuta Wainiqolo was impressive for his club despite their 19-41 loss to Toulouse. He also scored a try. 

Other Round 12 try scorers included Nathan Hughes in their 20-all draw against Peniasi Dakuwaqa’s Stade Francais Paris side. Josua Tuisova and Vinaya Habosi paired at midfield for Racing 92 while Lekima Tagitagivalu was named on the bench.
