The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua were accorded a i-vakamamaca by the members of the Namosau Methodist Church as they hosted their first training session at the Four R stadium in Ba yesterday.
The women were led by group president Salote Nakobukobua to support the side.
Nakobukobua, who is originally from Vunaqoro, Naqalimare, Nadroga, has called Ba her home for years.
She said they were grateful to organisers for bringing the Drua team close to their home.
“We had our church service for the Ba town circuit at Namosau and after the service we decided to come down and watch the team train,” Nakobukobua said.
“This is a huge thing for us. We are grateful to witness their training. We all watch them on TV and it is great to give them the support they deserve.”
Nakobukobua added that she is from a rugby-crazy province and that Ba is also on track.
She said some of the women will be present to witness the match against the Brumbies.
