Swire Shipping Fijian Drua must win their final three games to qualify for the Super Rugby Pacific quarterfinals now that they are sitting ninth on the points table.

Speaking during the Zoom interview yesterday, Drua head coach Glen Jackson said their game against NSW Waratahs on Saturday is crucial.

“The Waratahs will be coming in motivated we are playing at home; so, we got an advantage," Jackson said.

“We haven’t played our best the last few matches in Suva; so, we are looking forward for a good outfit," he said.

The last time the two teams met was in Round 2 of Super Rugby Pacific 2026 where Waratahs won 36-13 in Sydney.

Waratahs are dubbed the ‘rockstar team’ with most Wallabies in their squad.

“It’s a big game for both clubs,” he said.

“The dream to reach the quarterfinals is still alive.

“The boys know the task at hand.

“We are motivated and pumped to get our most wins as a club in a season.”

The Fijian Drua has five wins so far - a win short of their 2024 season campaign record of 6.

“We will take each game as it comes.

Anything can happen and we are looking forward to win at home,” he said.

Frank Lomani has been retained at wing with

Isaak Fines-Leleiwasa at halfback is two crucial players in their home assault.

“Lomani was great against Highlanders in

Ba; he has proven to be versatile in both defence and attack.

“That just shows that he is committed to the club, no matter what position it is,” he said.

Top tackler, Kitione Salawa has also been named in the team at 7.

“The lineouts will be important this weekend and we know Waratahs will look to contest.

“We will strengthen our defence and minimise the mistakes at the breakdowns.”

He added the biggest improvements this year was the improvement in defense and winning the moments when it counted.

“The boys will be out to perform in front of their families; which is a boost.

“Playing natural is our aim this weekend, hard hits and free-flowing rugby.”
