Dudley High School Under-15 side is refusing to become complacent after a commanding 37-3 victory over rugby powerhouse Ratu Sukuna Memorial School (RSMS) last Saturday.
Head coach Sakiusa Koroi told SUNsports yesterday, the team would approach every remaining pool match as a final as they eye an impressive start.
“We will treat every game as a final and won’t underestimate any opponent.
“Every match is important if we want to achieve our goal,” Koroi said.
Despite the convincing win, Koroi said the team had quickly shifted its focus to the next challenge.
“Our preparations have gone well this week. We have gone back to the drawing board to work on the areas we need to improve from our last game.”
Koroi said defence remained a priority despite the team’s dominant performance.
“Our focus is on improving our defensive line speed, ruck defence and attacking structure. There is always room for improvement.”
He also called on Dudley supporters, families and former students to turn out in numbers for Saturday’s match.
“We invite our supporters, families and ex-scholars to come and cheer on the boys this weekend.”
Dudley will face Gospel High School today at Suva Grammar School grounds, for their final round of the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Deans competition. The match would determine the team that will qualify for nationals.
