Fire Rugby to extinguish Police Blues momentum

The Fire Rugby team will have to sharpen their defense when they take on the Police Blues side in their last pool game of the Escott Shield competition.
Fire Rugby defeated Lomaiviti Black 31 – 24 in round 10 at Buckhurst Park in Suva on Saturday.
Team manager Vetaia Bogi said the outcome in their match against Police will determine their pool standings.

“Lomaiviti Black exposed many of our weaknesses in the field which we’ll work on next week,” Bogi said.
“Former Fiji 7s men’s rugby player Tira Welagi’s experience and our flyhalf Sekove Aka’s raw talent really boosted the performances of our team against Lomaiviti Black.”
Fire Rugby have set their sights in winning the Escott Shield at the end of the season.
“We request the Fire family support next week so that we can achieve our target this year,” Bogi said.
“I was impressed with my players fitness as our forwards were able to dominate Lomaiviti Black in the scrums and I thank them for their effort.”
Bogi added that they will need to polish their scrums as the Police team has an experienced and tough forward pack.
“I told the players to stick to the game plan, and they did,” he said.
“We got the win against Lomaiviti,” he said.
