This Friday’s Battle of Fiji clash between the Fijian Drua and the Skipper Select XV at Churchill Park, Lautoka, is getting rugby fans around the country excited.
This was the view of the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) board chairman John Sanday.
“This is the match everyone is excited about,” the former Flying Fijians No.8 said.

Sanday said the briefings he has been getting is that the Skipper Select XV has been training very well and team spirit is very high.
“It provides an opportunity for our Skipper Cup players to pitch themselves against a fully professional side that has been playing top level rugby for several seasons now,” he said.
“We are investing in the local players and want them to get a taste of top class rugby. We want to showcase to the world, the true running rugby style of Fiji that is backed up by super fitness and strength conditioning and a team that’s blended together very well.”
The Skipper Select XV is coached by former Flying Fijians lock Rupeni Nasiga and captained by Nadroga looseman, Sakiusa Vosayaco.
The match kicks-off at 4pm.
