The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has the full support of the French government through its Ministry of Sports to oversee the movement of young Fijian players to professional clubs in France.
FRU chief executive officer Koli Sewabu made the announcement during a press conference at the Rugby House conference room in Suva on Monday.
“This oversight by FRU is crucial in minimising past mistakes and player welfare issues allowing our younger players to join professional clubs in France with their welfare protected and guaranteed,” Sewabu said.

The collaboration was made possible through the delegation made up of FRU chairman John Sanday, board member Anare Manulevu and CEO Koli Sewabu who made the trip to France in November last year.
“The amount of work that has been done in France through our former players and one in particular, our sports ambassador to Europe Julian Vulakoro,” Sewabu added.
