'Having my little brother is special'

"At the end of the day, whoever is in that 10 jersey, our job is to win. As long as we are winning, we are happy," he said.

Having his young brother Moses in the Fijian Drua set-up is special for star first-five eighth Isaiah Armstrong- Ravula. Speaking to SUNsports, Ravula said seeing his Moses everyday meant a lot to him.

"It is special," he said.

"I got to come to work every day and see my little brother around. "Obviously, it meant a lot to my family as well, and we were pretty blessed and grateful to be here together."

The team's training had been progressing despite the hot Nadi weather.

"So, it was good training and working off all that Christmas food we ate," he said. Ravula admitted that competition for position is really tough.

"We had a few boys who could play in a position.

It is not easy but it is definitely a challenge," he said. This year's Shop N Save Super Rugby season is expected to be challenging after Caleb Muntz left to play for Provence in the French ProD2 competition. There will now be competition for the number 10 jersey.

"I thought it was going to be good to compete for that number 10 jersey and work together as a team.

"At the end of the day, whoever is in that 10 jersey, our job is to win. As long as we are winning, we are happy," he said.

Ravula added that players have been working hard on their own goals. "Obviously, we had been working on our own goals as a team.

I thought just staying connected, especially at the end of the game, was important," Ravula said. The Drua squad is a mixture of young and experienced players.

"We were still a young team and a lot of us had played quite a few games. So, it was pretty cool that we all had that little bit of experience, and I thought it was going to help us definitely in the long run," Ravula said.

"(Frank) Lomami and Temo (Mayanavanua) are two great leaders and well respected in the group. Anything they said, the boys would do.

They were just two great leaders on and off the field." Moses was a former Fiji Under-20 player who participated in the Oceania Rugby Under-20 Challenge last year.

He plays at hooker and represented Manawatu Turbo in last season's National Provincial Championship in New Zealand.
