Hurricanes and Maori All Blacks hooker Jacob Devery aim to work on his gameplay against the NSW Waratahs, this weekend.

Speaking to SUNsports, he believes the team would bounce back despite losing to the Fijian Drua 25-20 in Lautoka last Saturday.

“We got a few areas to work on; just a few bumps to clean-up and we are ready,” he said.

“This game requires us to be on our A game always.”

Hurricanes will face Waratahs in round 4 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific in Sydney on Friday.

Devery came in as a substitute for Asafo Aumua in the second half and bolted himself in defence and attack.

“It was a tough game against the Fijian Drua at their home stadium. The energy was electric; the fans were amazing,” he said.

Devery added that playing in Fiji was always special.

“Playing rugby here will always be special because the talent in Fiji is immense. The weather is always un-predictable so it’s also a challenge,” he said.

Devery stated the next game will be a good one as they look to hand Waratahs their first loss since their fairytale start to the new season.

“It will be a tough one over there, but who doesn’t love a challenge,” he added.
