Kadavu Rugby Union (KRU) has secured the support of TISA Insurance in their inaugural Skipper Cup season campaign this year.
KRU president Lynda Tabuya acknowledged TISA Insurance’s support, “We thank David Chan and his team at TISA Insurance for their passion and commitment.
“I want to acknowledge specifically our chiefs of the nine districts, the 75 villages in Kadavu that have all come together united behind Kadavu rugby teams.”
Tabuya said KRU will seek the support of their chiefs and people in their Skipper Cup campaign.
“Kadavu is ready to make history. Thank you everyone for believing in our union and the development of rugby for the betterment of our young people of Kadavu.”
KRU apart from receiving equipment also received $10,000 from TISA insurance.
“We are ready to rise,” she added.
TISA Insurance chief executive officer David Chan said their support was an investment in people and members of the community.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with KRU as they prepare to feature in this year’s Skipper Cup competition,” Chan said.
“Rugby is more than a game in Fiji, it’s part of who we are, it unites religions and families.”
Chan added that rugby helps build discipline, resilience, and character.
“It gives young people hope, purpose and opportunity, and reminds us that when communities come together with belief and pride, extraordinary things can happen,” he said.
“For us, protecting the futures of Fijians and empowering families and businesses to prosper is what we’re all about.”
Chan said they will continue to invest in grassroots rugby, youth development and women’s initiative.
“When communities grow stronger, Fiji grows stronger.”
“What inspires us about Kadavu rugby, it reflects the values we believe in as an organisation resilience, humility, courage, unity and heart.”
