He extended gratitude on behalf of the Momo na Tui Nawaka, the village of Nawaka, and the tournament’s stakeholders.
“I would like to thank Fiji Bitter for coming on board again this year. We appreciate their commitment to our community,” he said.
Tamata noted that although Fiji Bitter sponsors many tournaments across the country, their loyalty to Nawaka remains special.
“From the early days of running the tournament until now, Fiji Bitter is still here.
“We are so grateful it shows their trust and commitment,” he said.
He added that this year’s tournament will carry a strong message say no to drugs.
“Our aim this year is to combat drug abuse,” he said, adding that the initiative aligns with Fiji Bitter’s consistent support.
Fiji Bitter brand manager Maxine Edwards said the Nawaka 7s was one of the longest-running and most iconic rugby tournaments in Nadi and across Fiji.
“As a brand rooted in Fijian culture, we are proud to support an event that has grown from village rugby passion into a platform for emerging players,” she said.
She said for decades, the Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s has shaped champions, united communities and showcased the best of grassroots rugby.
“We are honoured to continue this long-standing partnership,” Edwards added.
