Northland ready, says Dau

The Northland rugby team is anticipating a good start in Saturday’s Vodafone Cup opener.
Centre Meli Dau said they have set their goal for the season.
“Every team is fighting for a spot in the Skipper Cup and we are also targeting the same,” Dau said.

“Last year we lost in the semi-finals and hope to do better this year.”
Dau said 17 clubs are part of the Northland rugby from neighboring villages including Nakorowaiwai, Senibiau, Dritabua, Service, Waidalice and Nailega.
“We learnt a lot from our loss to Rewa during the play-offs and we’re taking those lessons moving forward.
“We are preparing well to make it to the top competition.
“There are many challenges but we’re confident of a good outing. We always address our team members to maintain discipline on the field and respect match officials who’s decision should be obeyed.”
