Rayasi to extend stay at Bordeaux

Flying Fijians utility Salesi Rayasi is close to extending his contract with Bordeaux. 

According to RugbyRama the Matuku, Lau native was approached by Bayonne and Stade Français Paris, however he decided to extend his stay at Bordeaux, where a new two-year contract awaits him.

He recently accepted an offer from the Bordeaux management and will soon sign a new two-year contract. 

President Laurent Marti said: “We need him. The player wants to stay; the staff wants to keep him. This is the deal we’re working on.”

The club president declared before Christmas on the Top 14 Rugby programme.

Signed by Bordeaux six months ago, he has been putting in a string of impressive performances.

He has played eleven matches and scored six tries for the club since the season resumed. 

Meanwhile, Luke Tagi and Manu Tuilagi are available for Bayonne to face Montpellier. 

The Fijian tight head prop, has been absent since the first round this season due to an ankle injury.
