RC Vannes announced on Wednesday the immediate and mutually agreed-upon separation of winger Filipo Nakosi.
The Fijian player saw very little playing time this season.
Nakosi is no longer a Vannes player. Arriving at the club in 2024 to participate in RCV’s first season in the Top 14, the former Castres player established himself as a game-changer in the Breton backline, despite the team’s failure to avoid relegation.

Two short matches this season
With only two appearances and no starts, the Fijian was clearly no longer part of Jean-Noël Spitzer and his staff’s plans.
It was then that the club announced on Friday its mutual agreement to part ways with Nakosi, effective immediately.
In a statement, RCV emphasised: “The club wishes to thank him for his commitment and professionalism throughout his time in Brittany.
Rugby Club Vannes wishes him every success in his future sporting and personal life with his family.”
The 33-year-old made the move from Castres to Vannes on a two-year deal ahead of their first season in the Top 14 in 2024/25.
The club were relegated after one season, but have a return to France’s top flight securely in their crosshairs, sitting eight points clear at the top of Pro D2 (although they will still need to go through the play-off), but will continue without Nakosi.
The wing made 17 appearances during his time at the Stade de la Rabine.
There has been no confirmation yet as to where the 108kg wing will next play.
