Rising Blues join Bula FC

Franchise club Bula FC (football club) has continued signing young players for next year’s OFC (Oceania Football Confederations) Professional-League competition that gets underway on January 17.

The Bula FC is coached by Stephane Auvray, a French national and a former professional midfielder. He was recently appointed and has been working closely with Bula FC interim chief executive officer Anushil Kumar.


VELENI RASOREWA

The 17-year-old is the latest signing to the franchise club. He is a promising talent and is one of emerging and exciting player for Lautoka FC.

Originally from Tailevu, Rasorewa’s football journey began in Class 8 at Dreketi Sangam Primary School in Lautoka, where he was spotted by coach Sunil Kumar and was named for the Fiji Under-15 trials. 

Rasorewa has steadily climbed the ranks, featuring for the Lautoka youth teams before breaking into the senior squad. 

He has been part of Fiji’s youth system, playing in the U17 qualifiers last year and progressing to the FIFA World Cup campaign this year, gaining valuable international exposure at a young age.

Now, Rasorewa is set to take the next big step in his career with Bula FC.

He said the move feels like the beginning of a new chapter.

“I’m really excited and ready for this new challenge,” the youngster said.

“This is the kind of opportunity you dream about when you’re growing up. I’ve worked hard for this and I know there’s still a lot to learn, but I’m ready to push myself, grow, and give everything for the club.”


STERLING VASCONCELLOS

Bula FC welcome Lautoka’s own Sterling Vasconcellos as the club’s newest signing. 

Born and raised in the Sugar City, Vasconcellos journey began at Dreketi Sangam Primary School before he progressed through the Lautoka youth system, representing the Blues from U10 right up to U19. 

By 17, he had already broken into the Lautoka senior team and also represented Fiji at age grade level.

Vasconcellos later earned a one-year contract with Eastern Suburbs in New Zealand and went on to represent Fiji, gaining valuable experience at international level.

Now at 20, Vasconcellos said earning a professional contract with Bula FC is something he’s grateful for.

“It’s a blessing, I have been praying for this chance and I hope everything goes well for me.”
