The Savura rugby team needs to work on their discipline if they are to make a mark in this season’s Suva Rugby Union club competition.

This was highlighted by Savura halfback Sowani Veitayaki after their 22-17 upset win over DHL Raiwaqa in their Escott Shield clash at Suva’s Bidesi Park, last Saturday.

Veitayaki also acknowledged the effort put in by his team-mates in a tough battle against Raiwaqa.

“We lacked discipline in the first half trailing (on the scoreline) and our coach high-lighted it during halftime,” Veitayaki said.

“I thank the boys for working together to get the win in the end.”

He added that their players were reminded to stay disciplined on and off the field.

“A few of our players face challenges with a tough life at home but these group of players play for each other,” he said.

“We need to avoid high tackles, handling errors and giving away possession.”

Veitayaki said they would need to reset and get ready for their next match.

“Our motto in the team is, ‘One for all and all of one’.

“A few of us received yellow cards but we stayed relentless to the end to secure the win.

“We thank our supporters and parents for backing the team on match-day.”
