While Wales has the advantage of assembling way earlier than the Flying Fijians, head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said it would come to doing the little things right.
The two sides will face off at 1am on Sunday (Fiji time) in their opening match of the inaugural Nations Champion-ship.
Seruvakula said his side only had 11 days to prepare to face Wales, who won over the Barbarians, 33-31 last Sunday.
“We know that they are going to be very tough in the physicality, breakdown and also in the set-piece. So they will be attacking us in the middle,” he said.
“We have watched their game against Barbarians. They are a good team. So, we just have to discipline ourselves in doing our defence and also in our attack.
“Wales has been going well their last outing and we know that we believe they’re going to be coming strong at us.”
Seruvakula said there has been a lot of clarity the past few weeks and players are gel-ling well.
He has named a mixture of seasoned and young players in Sunday’s clash with Peceli Yato starting off the bench.
Other senior players on the side include midfield pairs Semi Radradra and Josua Tu-isova at centre and second five eight respectively.
“We’re just concentrating on us, what we want to achieve and what our objective is. Especially, we have to do well on our set pieces and win the collision - that’s the message for this week.
“We have to bring in a lot of accuracy in our game and discipline.”
Seruvakula added his selection was based on player’s performance.
