Several changes will be made to the Skipper Select XV squad ahead of their clash against the Fijian Drua on Friday.

Head coach Rupeni Nasiga said injuries have forced adjustments to the line-up as the team prepares for the historic pre-season clash at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

“There are a few changes to be made due to non-availability of some players,” Nasiga said yesterday.

“We have brought in other players, including a few boys from Naitasiri and some from Malolo.”

Nasiga said the team is managing minor injuries within the squad but remains on track with its preparations.

“There are some minor injuries, but the boys are recovering.”

The squad had a short break and resumed their training yesterday.

They will march into camp today.

The winning Skipper Cup coach also praised Douglas Daveta’s performance at last weekend’s Singapore SVNS, praising the young player’s progress.

Daveta was one of his players when they lifted the 2025 Skipper Cup title at the HFC Bank Stadium on November 1, 2025.

“I’m very proud of him,” Nasiga said.

“He needs to stay confident and keep working hard in the next tournament.”

Meanwhile, Friday’s trial match will kick off at 4pm.
