NRL (National Rugby League) star Zac Lomax is ready to make his Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific debut against the Fijian Drua at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Saturday.

The 26-year-old arrived at Nadi Internation-al Airport last night with his Western Force team. Lomax has been named in the Match 23 squad and will start from the bench.

“First time in Fiji, and it’s a fortune to be playing the Drua at home in Fiji,” Lomax told SUNsports.

“I don’t think it’s going to be a tougher task but it’s a tough game of footy over here. Hope-fully, the rain stays away but really looking forward to it.

“Well, hopefully I’ll go alright mate. It’s been a while but it’s going to be a good test and there’s no bigger task than coming over here for my first game ever.”

Lomax is an NSW State of Origin and Kangaroos star who had signed a two-year deal with Rugby Australia (RA) to join the Force. He played for Parramatta Eels before he signed for R360, which later delayed its launch by two years.

Lomax was in a limbo as the Eels blocked his proposed transfer to the Melbourne Storm in the NSW supreme court and banned him from joining any of their NRL rivals until 2028. This saw him switch to rugby union.

The Drua v Force match will kick off at 4:35pm.
