Our client, Fiji Airways, Fiji's national airline, is seeking an accomplished and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to lead the Company's financial strategy, stewardship and performance.
Reporting to the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer and serving as an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role will provide strategic financial leadership across planning, treasury, capital management, aircraft and property assets, revenue accounting, analytics, reporting, hedging and financial risk. The successful candidate will strengthen financial discipline and governance, safeguard the Company's assets, support sustainable growth and investment, and provide forward-looking advice that enables sound commercial and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead Fiji Airways’ financial strategy, planning and performance to support sustainable growth.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the MD/CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and long-term business planning.
- Strengthen financial discipline, cost management, governance and internal controls.
- Oversee liquidity, treasury, debt financing, capital structure and banking relationships.
- Manage fuel-price, foreign-exchange and interest-rate risks through effective hedging strategies.
- Lead aircraft acquisition, leasing, divestment and lifecycle financial planning.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Oversee revenue accounting and maintain controls to prevent revenue leakage.
- Lead financial risk management, stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Build enterprise-wide analytics, dashboards and forecasting capabilities to support decision-making.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing Finance team while maintaining strong relationships with financiers, regulators, auditors and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent professional accreditation.
- An MBA or postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded.
- At least 10 years' senior finance leadership experience within large, complex or capital-intensive organisations, preferably in aviation or a similar industry.
- Proven expertise in financial management, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, capital management and corporate reporting.
- Experience with financial risk management, including fuel and foreign exchange hedging programmes, aircraft leasing and asset management.
- Strong strategic leadership capability with experience providing advice at Executive and Board level.
- Advanced analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills, supported by strong digital and data literacy.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Sound knowledge of governance, compliance and financial reporting standards.
- High levels of professional integrity, judgement and accountability.
