$7m waterfront coffee bar, dinning venue to open on Valentine’s Day

A new premium waterfront coffee bar and dining destination, Coffee Outback, is set to open on February 14, adding a major hospitality attraction to the area and creating a high-end venue for corporate, tourism and local markets.

The development, located on a prime waterfront site at Fantasy Island, represents an investment of about $7 million in construction and interior fit-out.

Developer and Juxta Beach Fiji Pte Limited managing director Abbas Ali said the venue had been designed to deliver a world-class dining experience, combining scenic waterfront views with modern hospitality facilities.

Operating from 6am to 10pm, Tuesday to Sunday, the venue will cater to early morning coffee patrons through to evening dining guests.

Mr Ali said a key highlight of the operation was the appointment of a high-profile Chinese chef from China, who would lead the kitchen and introduce authentic and innovative Chinese cuisine alongside Western and Indian menu options.

“The concept aims to meet international service and culinary standards,” he said.

The facility has been designed to accommodate large groups and events, with seating for up to 300 guests, while the lounge caters for more than 100 guests. A further 200 seats are available across the restaurant and coffee bar areas.

Features include a bar and bar lounge, a dedicated pizza lounge and a specialty coffee bar offering a wide range of blended coffee. Outdoor seating and traditional waterfront bures complement the interior setting.

The first floor has capacity for up to 300 guests and includes a stage, VIP room, bar and kitchen, while the ground floor lounge caters for more than 100 guests.

The venue will offer ample paid parking, with dedicated access for taxis, buses, yachts and other arrivals, making it suitable for corporate functions, tour groups and private events. It is also designed to serve residents of the wider Fantasy Island community.

A strict smart dress code will be enforced to maintain a professional and refined atmosphere. The operation will be supported by highly trained service staff, with a focus on delivering a consistent, high-quality guest experience from arrival to departure.
