Music, fellowship and community service will take centre stage as Fiji’s hospitality industry comes together for the 2026 Inter-Hotel Tournament, with a choir competition providing a new platform for hotels and tourism operators to connect beyond the workplace.
Denarau Marina Events director Percy Bechu said the tournament, now in its fourth year, had grown into an important event for bringing together hotels, resorts and tourism operators while strengthening professional relationships and friendships across the industry.
This year’s choir competition, to be held at St Michael Parish in Nadi as part of the tournament at the Mt St Marys School grounds, marks the first time the parish will host the inter-hotel singing event.

“While the choir competition itself is not new, this year marks the first time the Catholic parish is hosting the inter-hotel choir competition, creating another opportunity for hospitality associates to come together through music, talent and shared fellowship,” Mr Bechu said.
He said an industry social would follow the competition, allowing participants to interact and build friendships outside the competitive environment.
The tournament will also extend its impact beyond the hospitality sector, with two beneficiaries identified: the Christian Pesamino Leukaemia Foundation and St Michael Parish.
Mr Bechu said supporting the two organisations reinforced the event’s commitment to giving back and making a positive contribution to the wider community.
He said the tournament recognised the importance of creating opportunities for hospitality workers to connect, celebrate their talents and strengthen relationships across the industry.
“Through sport, music, fellowship and community service, DME looks forward to another successful tournament that brings the industry together, strengthens community connections and takes hospitality beyond the horizons of the workplace,” he said.
The tournament launch will be officiated by St Michael Parish Reverend Father Viliame Baleikoro, who will deliver the keynote address and formally declare the event open.
