The Ministry of Health has commended Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) for its ongoing contribution to the development of Fiji’s private healthcare sector and its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint across the Pacific region.
“Kudos to PSH for their contribution and for setting a strong example of innovation and progress in private healthcare. The ministry stands ready to support them in any way possible, as their success ultimately benefits the people of Fiji and our Pacific neighbours."
Speaking after PSH founder and chief exeutive officer Professor Parvish Kumar’s presentation at the World Health Organization’s Special Event of the Pacific Health Ministers on the Healthy Islands Vision at Shangri-La Yanuca Island Resort, Minister for Health Dr Ratu Antonio Lalabalavu acknowledged the hospital's leadership in delivering advanced medical care locally.

“We are very thankful to PSH for the tremendous progress they have made in delivering world-class healthcare through the private sector,” Dr Lalabalavu said.
“The Ministry fully supports PSH’s initiatives — not only in expanding the range and quality of their services, but also in their forward-looking plans, including the local manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and the introduction of new specialist services.”
He highlighted that PSH’s efforts directly support the region’s goal of reducing carbon emissions in healthcare by treating more patients within Fiji and the Pacific, lessening the need for overseas travel for medical procedures.
“Having Professor Kumar present to the Pacific Health Ministers was a valuable opportunity to showcase PSH’s capabilities.
Their strategic location near Nadi International Airport makes them accessible not only to Fijians but also to patients from across the Pacific,” the minister added.
“This partnership is mutually beneficial — strengthening healthcare access, building sustainability, and ensuring that both Fiji and the wider Pacific region benefit from shared expertise and innovation.”
Dr Lalabalavu congratulated PSH for its rapid growth and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the organisation’s continued expansion.
