New Nadi TB and dermatology centre boost health treatment
WHO praises Fiji’s commitment to accessible healthcare as the facility consolidates services for faster, seamless treatment.

The commissioning of the new Nadi Tuberculosis and Dermatology Centre today is expected to make treatment easier for members of the public.
While commissioning the new centre today, World Health Organization Western Pacific regional director, Dr Saia Piukala said the new centre stood as a testament to Fiji’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services.
“It consolidates previously scattered resources, making treatment more accessible to those in need” Dr Piukala said.

“This centre brings together services, making care more seamless and timelier,” he said.
“This event coincides with Fiji hosting the WHO regional committee meeting and marks 30 years since the Healthy Islands vision was established. The achievements underscore a shared commitment among nations to enhance health and dignity for all."
As the WHO director reaffirmed their partnership with Fiji, Dr Piukala quoted a Pacific proverb: “When we heal one thread, we strengthen the whole weave,” encapsulating the spirit of progress made in healthcare across the nation.
Meanwhile, Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu thanked WHO for their support in making the centre a reality saluting them for their contributions to developing the country’s health system.
The facility, worth more than 40,000 is expected to begin full operations next week.
