Appointment As Head Boy Takes Karlin By Surprise

Being named head boy of Bethel Primary School in Labasa came as a big surprise for Karlin Lee.
The Fiji-born Chinese lad said he only focuses on studies and never thought of being the school’s head boy.
“I want to become an accountant, that’s why I studied very hard,” he said.

“I know I have to balance my studies and supervise the children in school. I am performing very well in academics and this is the reason for my appointment.
“I will always be thankful to my friends who had believed in me and treated me equally.”
The 13-year-old thanked his teachers and parents for supporting him.
Meanwhile, head girl Vashti Mudaliar, said she will be exploring this new journey of hers.
“I know I’m capable of this job and I will play my role faithfully,” she said.
Vashti is the first in her family to be badged a head girl.
“This is like a dream came true for me and I believe that I will be successful in this,” she said.
“My teachers have always supported me and guided me and I will be working hard to make more improvements.”
Sixty-four prefects were inducted with Hadassah Natanu as deputy head girl and Khangeral Tugsjaral as deputy head boy.
