Church Pastor Starts Own Business

The pandemic has taught Pastor Vuniani Sovau not to rely on anyone, but to start a small business at his home.
Mr Sovau is a former garment factory worker and his past experience has got him starting his own sewing business at home.
The 60-year-old from Sabeto village, Nadi is the assistant pastor of Revival Church and also serves as a church treasurer.

“This God-given talent sustains my family and also my church.”
He said the pandemic has taught religous leaders some great lessons.
“Many of us depend on what the church gives us. Now there is no church service and many of the members have been affected by this pandemic.
“Most of them have lost their jobs. Most of my cell group were former hotel workers.”
He said COVID-19 has not only taught people to trust God, but for people to also make use of the talents and skills they have.
He said their small village business will also help complete their church extension project.
