Head Prefects Want To Bring About Changes

A total of 25 school prefects were badged on Friday during the Vatukoula Marist Convent School prefects’ induction, with both the head boy and head girl saying they hope to bring about change for the student body.
The 25 prefects consisted of class prefects, wash prefects, health promoting prefects and head prefects.
School head girl Mary Rauqe of Tavualevu said she was happy, honoured, surprised and excited to take on her new role.

She said she also hoped to make changes as the head of the student council this year.
Head boy Niko Baleinaceva echoed similar sentiments.
“I feel great and honoured to be the head boy of Vatukoula Marist Convent School, firstly I want to thank Mr Doughty (head teacher) and the rest of the teachers for believing in me and entrusting me with this huge responsibility and I dedicate my achievement to my parents and my teacher Mr Tawake,” he said.
“I want to change things in the school to be good and for all the students in my class to be good to be resilient.”
While officiating as chief guest Parish Priest father Luke Nalau emphasised that the role of leadership was not for pride but to serve fellow students and teachers.
