The opportunity to sell at the VotCity/JetSet Flea Market in Votualevu, Nadi, is a blessing in disguise for Hindu priest, Pundit Jay Joshi.

The 39-year-old, who operates a stall at the Flea Market, said his priestly wages had been affected during the COVID-19 crisis, so he chose to be a vendor.

“For the past three months, I usually conducted house to house Pooja. For the last three months there was no Pooja conducted because of this COVID-19 pandemic crisis and there was no income for me,” he said.

“I was thinking of how we could survive because I have a wife and a kid who rely on me. My aunty who also sells here at the Flea Market encouraged me to sell some Indian food here.

“It was a blessing especially during this time of the crisis to be given this opportunity to sell here so that I can support my family.”
