Labasa Law School Winners

The trio representing the school of under Faculty of Arts, Law and Education beat school of social science school in the finals.

Three students of the University of the South Pacific walked out of three weeks debate as winners from Labasa campus on Wednesday.

They were Khalid Hassan, a former Police prosecutor and now a third year law student; Vignesh Prasad, a Police prosecutor based in Savusavu and Mohammed Zahid Khan, a second year law student.

The trio representing the school of under Faculty of Arts, Law and Education beat school of social science school in the finals.

Mr Prasad said his team debated positively on the topics such as feminism should focus more on men’s rights, technology will be man’s downfall and should the use of CCTV in curbing crime be made compulsory in our society.

“It was a wonderful educational experience for us as law students,” Mr Prasad speaking on behalf of other members.

“This is the first debate for this year and second time arranged by USP.”

He hopes more such competition could be organised so students can contribute ideas.
