Maria Solikibau believes that nurturing her children with love is slowly paying dividends.

On Monday, the overjoyed mother was in tears as she witnessed her son, Maika Solikibau, badged head boy of Xavier College in Ba.

Mrs Solikibau told the Fiji Sun being at home and attending to the needs of her husband, Samuela Solikibau and their five children meant she had a bigger role to play.

“My priority is my children and I am a proud mother to see that my son is the head boy of Xavier College,” she said.

“It is the love that I have for my kids which starts from home than to their academic performance.

“I always motivate them and urge them to believe in themselves.”

Maika said his parent's teachings brought him to where he was today.

“I was only allowed to play rugby last year, they have been strict with my academic work so I can score good marks and succeed,” he said

“My parents are supportive of my academic work and that is why I am blessed to be where I am today.”
