Nadogo student aspires to transform Northern roads
The youngest of three siblings, he is the first in his family to reach Year 13 and achieve top results.

Nadogo Central College Year 13 student Ravishal Prasad dreams of becoming a civil engineer to help improve roading infrastructure in the Northern Division.
The 19-year-old scored an impressive 335 out of 400 marks in the Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination (FY13CE).
His subject scores were: English – 66, Physics – 84, Pure Mathematics – 94, and Technical Drawing – 91.

“I was confident when checking my marks because I knew I worked hard with a lot of revisions,” he said.
Mr Prasad comes from a sugarcane and vegetable farming family and lives in an extended household. Balancing schoolwork with farm chores was part of his daily routine.
The youngest of three siblings, he is the first in his family to reach Year 13 and achieve top results.
“My parents always told me that education brings respect, financial stability, and recognition in society,” he said.
“They encouraged me to pursue education so I can secure a good job.”
He plans to remain in Labasa and continue his studies at the Fiji National University (FNU) Labasa campus.
Mr Prasad credits his success to being attentive in class, which helped him grasp concepts quickly, and to additional revision classes organised by teachers.
The soft-spoken student hopes to one day contribute to the development of roading infrastructure in the North, which he believes requires urgent attention.
