Eighty-three-year-old Anur Khan urged the younger generation not to fear getting the COVID-19 jab.

Ms Khan was one of the many who lined up at the Nadi Muslim College yesterday to receive her first injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

“I was looking forward to being vaccinated today,” she said.

“I want to tell the younger ones out there please do not fear getting vaccinated.

“People will instill fear in you but remember that vaccination is everybody’s safety.”

Salim Khan, 56, wants our international borders to reopen so that he can visit his son in New Zealand.

This is why he got vaccinated.

Meresini Kawaitaukei, 21, who lives in Votualevu, Nadi, said: “I came with my family to be vaccinated today.

“Being vaccinated is important because it does not only protect me but also protects my family.”
