Sunrise Sets On Luisa Latianara’s Life
Fulfilling his vows to his wife and God, Mr Latianara took her on a wheelchair to see the sunrise on Thursday and breathe in fresh air three times.

True love exists as the humble Eroni Latianara weds his sweetheart Luisa Dalituicama Latianara at their home in Nasekula on May 22, 2020.
For the last time, the sunrise set on her face before she gave up her final breath on her hospital bed.
That was the late Luisa Latianara’s request to her dedicated husband, Eroni Latianara, while holding his hand.
Fulfilling his vows to his wife and God, Mr Latianara took her on a wheelchair to see the sunrise on Thursday and breathe in fresh air three times.

She passed away at 5:45am on Friday at the Labasa Hospital. She was 27.

Two months later, on the same date, Fiji Sun is publishing the couple’s story, only this time, it’s about Mrs Latianara’s final moments with her husband and family.
Mrs Latianara courageously fought stage four breast cancer when she was diagnosed in January this year, leaving her paralyzed from her waist down.
In happier days…the late Luisa Latianara.
She never expected to lose her eldest child to breast cancer.
“After their emotional wedding, my daughter was full of life and so much joy, we stayed home for a good three weeks before she returned to the hospital as she felt her body was weak,” she said.
“My son-in-law never gave up and was dedicated in looking after and taking care of my daughter until her last breath. He would walk to the hospital every morning and return late at night.
“One evening, no one had turned up to the hospital to stay with Luisa overnight as men were not allowed to stay in the hospital overnight, Eroni insisted that he wait outside the door to hear Luisa’s call for help.”
Ms Dalituicama said on Thursday evening her daughter’s heart rate started beating quickly. “Her five-year-old son came up to the bed and gave her a kiss calling mommy, mommy.”
She said her daughter called out na (mum) three times and told her vakacegu (be at peace).
Early on Friday morning, Mr Latianara told his mother-in-law to sponge his wife just like when she was a baby.
As they turned to sponge her, Luisa gave up her last breath.
Mrs Latianara is survived by her husband and son, Qase Dalituicama.
The family has yet to set a date for the funeral.
