I adore you and may God bless Fiji.

These were the words of Viraj Virendra Khelawan, who won the Fiji50-seconds video challenge, under the inclusive education category.

He was thanking the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Rosy Akbar, and the Government for the challenge and for remembering the country’s future generation.

Minister Akbar was touched by these words while handing over Viraj’s award.

The Year Four student of Qawa Primary said he adored the minister for being there to personally handover his award.

Ms Akbar was emotional and highlighted the importance of equal opportunities for every child to have access to education.

“There is zero tolerance to inhumane treatment and I applaud our teachers who take in students with special needs in inclusive education,” Ms Akbar said.

The minister also distributed awards to two Year 8 students of Vunimoli Islamia Primary School, Emali Mateni and Ivamere Draunitivi, for winning the Fiji50 art category.
