The Bocalevu Youth Club in Labasa has initiated an admirable effort in helping key members of its community on how to install and operate the careFIJI app.

The group members are conducting education and awareness targeting the elderlies and the tech illiterate members of their community.

Club vice president, Moneet Kumar, said as youths they had a responsibility towards their community, especially when the COVID-19 crisis was grappling the nation.

“We used our data to install the app on their phone since not everyone has the money to recharge,” he said.

He commended Government’s foresight in introducing the app that’s helping in the contact tracing efforts and the fight against COVID-19.

“We also advise and inform people on the importance of practising safe distancing, wearing masks, avoiding movement and washing hands during these troubled times,” he added.
