Expenditure in modern ICT technologies and cyber resilience should be viewed as an investment, not a cost, says Datec Fiji Pte Limited chief executive officer Vinit Nand.

Speaking at the Tech Summit 2025 held at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort in Natadola, Mr Nand said that technology was now the biggest enabler for businesses and organisations.

He urged leaders to prioritise scalable, resilient, and secure systems to support their digital aspirations.

“We’ve heard much about the rising wave of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the importance of security readiness from our esteemed speakers,” Mr Nand said.

“These are journeys that need to start now—please don’t leave them until the last minute. AI is not just a buzzword but a present-day reality.”

He encouraged organisations to embrace AI-enabled technologies to enhance operations while investing in robust cybersecurity systems to protect against ransomware and other threats.

Now in its fourth year, Fiji Tech Summit has become a key event not only for Fiji but for the wider Pacific region.

Mr Nand said the insights gained from global tech leaders, product demonstrations, and peer discussions will help shape the ICT landscape and contribute to national and regional digital strategies.

He also thanked the summit’s 28 partners for their continued support.

“Your physical presence and the connections made here reaffirm your dedication to strengthening partnerships, ensuring customer retention, and building brand loyalty,” he said.
