Public invited to free tsunami preparedness talk

Free session aims to strengthen disaster resilience in coastal communities.

The public are invited to attend a free public talk on tsunami preparedness featuring internationally renowned expert Dr Laura Kong, director of the International Tsunami Information Centre in Honolulu.

Dr Kong, who holds a PhD in Marine Seismology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will share practical advice on recognising natural tsunami warning signs, preparing families and communities, and building resilience before disaster strikes.

The session is open to the public and is aimed at anyone living in coastal areas, involved in disaster management, or interested in improving their emergency preparedness.
