What’s happening today at the Miss Hibiscus Festival

Today is day 3 of the Hibiscus Festival and it will feature a full day of community engagement, awareness sessions, and cultural performances, culminating in an evening of music and entertainment.

The day begins with the 10 contestants visiting the Samabula Old People’s Home from 9:00am to 10:30am, followed by a sponsored morning tea.

At 10:00am, Hibiscus Village will officially open, welcoming attendees to explore the festival grounds.

The contestants will then make a visit to Pure Fiji from 11:00am to 11:30am.

The Fiji Arts Council will host a workshop at the Lower Civic Centre from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, accompanied by information desks from the Land Transport Authority, National Archives, and Ministry of iTaukei Affairs.

The evening program will begin with pre-entertainment performances from 5:30pm to 6:30pm by the Mata Dance Group and Masti Dance Group, followed by the Chief Guest, Minister of Youth & Sports, being formally welcomed with a garland at 6:30pm, and delivering a keynote speech.

From 7:00pm to 7:30pm, festival contestants will take the main stage for introductions, followed by the second entertainment segment from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, featuring performances by CFL, Seru Serevi, and Georgina Ledua on the main stage, while the University of the South Pacific will present a cultural performance at the Civic Centre.

The day will conclude successfully, blending education, community engagement, and entertainment, highlighting the vibrancy and talent of Fiji’s youth.

Evening:

  • 5:30PM – 6:30PM: Pre-Entertainment – Mata Dance Group & Masti Dance Group
  • 6:30PM – 7:00PM: Chief Guest Garland & Speech – Minister of Youth & Sports
  • 7:00PM – 7:30PM: Contestant Introductions – Main Stage
  • 7:30PM – 8:30PM: Entertainment Part II – CFL, Seru Serevi & Georgina Ledua / Cultural Performance – USP Civic Centre
