2026 Korea Story Festival brings Korean cinema to Fiji

Film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience popular South Korean cinematic stories when the 2026 Korea Story Festival tours Suva, Nadi and Labasa this month.

Organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Fiji, the three-day festival will feature a selection of Korean films at cinemas across the country, offering audiences a glimpse into Korean culture, family life and storytelling through film.

The festival will begin at Damodar City Cinema in Suva from August 12-14, before moving to Life Cinema Nadi from August 19-21 and concluding at Damodar Cinemas Labasa from August 26-28.

Three films are scheduled for screening during the festival:

• Day One: Little Forest (G)

• Day Two: Sunset in My Hometown (Y13+)

• Day Three: Familyhood (G)

The Korea Story Festival aims to promote cultural exchange and strengthen people-to-people connections through the universal language of film.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Fiji is encouraging movie lovers, families and members of the public to attend the screenings and experience the diverse stories and themes presented through Korean cinema.

Admission is free for ticket holders, with limited seats available. Members of the public are encouraged to secure tickets early from the participating cinemas.
