That was the message to Batch 70 recruits as they entered the Fiji Police Academy yesterday to begin six months of Basic Recruit Course training.
Head of the School of Operations Assistant Superintendent of Police Nasoni Naqelekalou told the recruits that regardless of what they had achieved before entering the academy, they needed to be willing to learn.

“Forget all that you know because we want you to be teachable,” ASP Naqelekalou said.
“You must learn to be humble and teach yourself to respect everyone around you.”
ASP Naqelekalou reminded the recruits that they were fortunate to have been selected for training and urged them to prepare themselves physically and mentally for the six months ahead.
He said qualified instructors would guide and train them throughout the course.

The recruits are expected to be addressed later this week by Fiji Police Academy Commandant Senior Superintendent of Police Ruci Nasemira.
They will later be joined by recruits from Tuvalu.
