A $25 million Lomalagi Beach Resort is set to be developed in Olosara, Nadroga, with investors promising jobs, business opportunities and respect for the vanua.

The project is being led by Prop­erty Pro Group, owned by Avinesh Pillay, with a focus on sustainable development and cultural respon­sibility.

Resort spokesperson Maleli Nauluvula said the development would be guided by strong commu­nity partnerships and long-term growth.

"This is a major private invest­ment designed to create a lasting legacy through employment and national economic contribution," Mr Nauluvula said.

The resort will be delivered in four phases, beginning with an $8 mil­lion first stage.


Later phases will expand the resort with a 60-room hotel wing, an additional 12 high-end villas with private plunge pools, and a further 60 rooms to reach full capacity.

Mr Nauluvula said the project would create employment and sup­port local supply chains, with ben­efits expected to extend to nearby communities.

Nadroga/Navosa Chamber of Commerce president Suresh Naidu welcomed the investment, saying it would strengthen local businesses and create jobs.

"Lomalagi has the potential to drive employment and support small and medium enterprises in Sigatoka," he said.

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo is expected to officiate at the ground-­breaking ceremony on Friday.
