$3.5M Investment Project for Grand Eastern Hotel

A $3.5 million investment project into the extension of Grand Eastern Hotel in Labasa will be ready by June this year.
Hotel director Charan Jeath Singh said this project would see the construction of 28 rooms in a double storey building structure.
The project commenced on August 31, 2023.

“Each phase of the project is carried out as according to the schedule and we are hopeful to see it to be completed in June,” Mr Singh said.
He said the building would be built on a higher-level ground to avoid the risk of flooding.
The project would also include the construction of a jetty near the hotel where guests and other interested parties could enjoy day cruises to Mali Island, Kia Island, Vorovoro Island, Druadrua Island and Cikobia Island.
Out of this total 28 rooms, eight rooms will have cooking facilities. Currently this colonial-built hotel has 24 rooms.
It is the only hotel in Labasa Town that has a swimming pool.
