Christmas came early for 133 employees of Fiji Ports Corporation Limited after a bonus payout of $342,469 was announced.

Newly appointed chairman, Isikeli Tuituku - who replaced Pita Wise - said the group recorded a three per cent increase in net profit to sit at $27.84 million.

The economic rebound was fueled by a surge in cruise vessel arrivals and steady import- export trade volumes.

“The board declared a dividend payout of $16.6 million for the 2023 financial year, a 6.8 per cent increase from 2022,” Mr Tuituku said.

“Of this, $6.8 million to the government, $6.5 million to the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and $3.3 million to Aitken Spence Plc.

“The dividend shares to its three shareholders is a testament to the corporation’s continued success and financial health.

“Such positive results benefit both the government and our people as well as key partners such as FNPF,” Mr Rabuka said.

FCPL will recruit three top executives in January 2025.”
