Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Biman Prasad says investment activity across Fiji continues to surge, with projects valued at over $6.2 billion currently in various stages of development.

“As of September 2025, we have a total of 212 projects valued at $6.2 billion,” Mr Prasad said.

“Of this, 86 projects valued around $1.7 billion are under construction; 73 projects valued around $2.3 billion are at pre-development stage or in the approval process; and 53 projects valued at $2.3 billion are at conceptual stages.”

He said the Government was also rolling out major public infrastructure projects worth over $1.6 billion, funded through partnerships with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the governments of Australia and Japan.

“These will significantly stimulate growth, create employment and improve overall public service delivery in the country,” Mr Prasad said.

Among these are four critical bridge projects valued at more than $400 million — two in the Central Division (Lami and Medraukutu) and two in the West (Sabeto and Veiseisei).

“We also have various road upgrading and maintenance projects of around $400 million,” he said.

“For the water and wastewater treatment, we are allocating over $400 million for the Kinoya Sewage capacity upgrade and various water projects around the country.”

Mr Prasad also highlighted a major $500 million health sector project aimed at fixing the Colonial War Memorial Hospital and other health facilities, with more details to be announced soon.

“These numbers are not just statistics,” he said.

“It represents a vibrant new chapter in Fiji’s economic journey, one that embraces both the booming tourism industry and the increasing demand for quality housing and hospitality.”
