An $8 million eco-tourism project designed by Labasa businessman, Vinesh Dayal, in 2011 has finally started with land reclamation works.

An $8 million eco-tourism project designed by Labasa businessman, Vinesh Dayal, in 2011 has finally started with land reclamation works.
It follows the judgement of the Supreme Court in Suva, which favoured Hotel Northpole.
The Supreme Court ruling allowed Mr Dayal to develop the land along Sangam Avenue Road beside Labasa River - a land he leased.

The project is in partnership with the land-owning unit, Yasawa Matasawa, in collaboration with the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB).
It was an opportunity no one took in the past 50 years, said Mr Dayal.
