The appointment of Fiji Airports’ chief executive officer (CEO) will be any day now, said Viliame Gavoka.

The Minister for Civil Aviation told SunBiz the board was almost done with its recruitment drive.

“I believe they are interviewing now,” he said.

Fiji Airports Air Traffic Management and Operations general manager, Amit Singh, acts as CEO since February, 2023.

On the other hand, Government is yet to start the conversation on Fiji Airways’ next CEO.

It comes as the contract of current CEO, Andre Viljoen, concludes this year, after a three-year extension was announced in 2021.

“Government as a shareholder has given the board of directors the stewardship to decide,” he said.

“They will decide.”

Meanwhile, Theresa O’Boyle-Levestam was tipped to be confirmed for CEO, according to an earlier report from Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica.

CAAF is expected to make an official announcement of the appointment soon.
